Lavender is one of the most beloved and versatile oils included in the Young Living Premium Starter Kit. Of course it smells absolutely amazing (really - the quality of it will blow you away), but there are also so many more ways to put Lavender to use! Here are ten of the most popular uses for Young Living Lavender Essential Oil:

1. Sunburns: Combine 1oz of Purified Water, 4 drops of Young Living Lavender Oil, 1 drop of Young Living Peppermint Oil and a teaspoon of Aloe Vera.  Apply to sunburned skin for relief.
2. Allergy Relief: Combine 3 drops each of Young Living Lavender, Peppermint and Lemon Oil in a glass of water. Drink a glass in the morning, one in the middle of the day and another in the evening.
3. Stress and Anxiety: Lavender has natural calming effects. Apply directly to wrists and back of neck or diffuse in your Young Living Home Diffuser.
4. Create a Relaxing Bath: Add 5 drops of Young Living Lavender Oil to warm bathwater to relax after a long day.
5. Calm Anxious or Excited Pets: Rub a few drops of  Young Living Lavender Oil to your pet's collar.
6. Combat Wrinkles: Rub 1-2 drops of Young Living Lavender Oil into skin prior to bedtime for a youthful glow.
7. Insomnia: Rub 1 drop of Lavender oil on your palms and then apply to your pillow to help you sleep and for insomnia.
8. Rashes: Apply 2-3 drops of Young Living Lavender Oil to a rash to stop the itching and support healing.
9. Cold Sores: Put 1 drop of Young Living Lavender Oil on cold sores to promote healing.
10. Headaches: Massage 1 drop of Young Living Lavender Oil into temples for headache relief.

There are SO many more uses for Lavender! I'd love to hear in the comments section what other ways you've been able to put this popular oil to use!

Do you know the “shelf life” of these oils?

Great question Maureen! The answer is that there isn’t one. :) As long as you store the essential oils with the lids closed and out of direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, they will retain their therapeutic value for years and years.
