Important Note: This post will be stuck to the top of the website all day today. Scroll down for more great deals!

You all have seen it on the news and you’ve read about it in the paper. The heartbreaking destruction caused by the earthquake that struck Haiti earlier this week has killed thousands and has left thousands more without homes and the even the more basic necessities to survive.

Bargain Blessings is teaming up with Money Saving Mom during the next week to help the victims of the earthquake. Here is what you can do to help:

1) Pray! We do not know why terrible things like this happen, but what we do know is we have a Father that loves each and every one of us and can provide more comfort and healing to those in Haiti than any monetary amount could ever do!

For every one of our readers (up to 100) that commits to praying for Haiti by leaving a comment on this post before January 21st, Bargain Blessings will donate .50 to help those affected by the earthquake.

Update: Come on all you readers…the bloggers are beating you right now with more link-ups than we have comments! Lets get up to 100!

2) Blog about it! We are joining Money Saving Mom in encouraging other bloggers to participate in this call to help Haiti!

Bagain Blessings will donate another .50 for every blogger (up to 100) that links up below (before January 21st) to their post about what they are doing to help Haiti! $100 might not seem like a lot, but when you get hundreds or even thousands of websites and bloggers joined together in this effort the results will be amazing!

3) Donate! There are so many ways that you can donate and no amount is too small! Here are a few:

*Give through your church

We will be donating through our church. Contact your church to see if they are doing anything to help!

*Give to Compassion International, an organization dedicated to help children who are living in poverty.

All funds raised in response to the Haiti earthquake will be used immediately to provide for Compassion-assisted children and families affected by this crisis. Any funds raised in excess will be stewarded by Compassion for additional and future disaster relief efforts.

*Give to the Red Cross. You can donate online here or you can text “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. It will show up on your next phone bill.

We donated to the US fund for UNICEF and also to a local (Kentucky)-based charity called Ten Kids whose goal is to provide a safe home, education, etc. to Ten Kids http://www.tenkids.org/. I like the idea of giving to an organization meeting general needs of the people of Haiti and to one meeting the needs of specific children. We are so blessed–I can't imagine the losses of the Haitian people.

http://www.just1dollar4haiti.org/ is the website specifically for earthquake relief for the nonprofit Haiti Cheri Havest Life Ministries (www.haiticheri.org). They are an mission organization that partners with Haitian people to improve their quality of life (education, food, medical, etc). Any money donated now goes to earthquake relief. You can check out the website for a link to up-to-date info and correspondence from Haitian friends about the earthquake and effects, and you can make tax-deductible contributions securely online. You are right that every little bit helps- most Haitian people live on less per day than we can scrape out of the ashtray for a Coke in the drive-thru. Having done mission work in Haiti, I have seen first-hand the desolation of everyday life forthe Haitian people. This epic disaster is truly heartbreaking, and the long-term consequences are beyond what I can even fathom. Thanks for posting, and thanks for your generosity.
