3 Important Updates About the King Soopers Catalina Mix and Match Event!

I know that many of you have been busy getting in on some of the awesome deals and that are part of this week's King Soopers Mix and Match event. If you are still waiting to do your shopping, I  have three important updates for you:

Length of Promotion
I will have 100% conformation on Monday, but as of right now I do not expect the Mix and Match promotion to run for two weeks (as many Kroger Mega Events do). This means that you will have through Tuesday to get in on these deals at King Soopers and City Market

Limit of Catalinas
Although it is not advertised, most Kroger (including King Soopers) now have a limit of 4 catalinas that you can earn per transaction. This means that if you want to purchase more than 20 participating items, you'll need to do it in a second transaction.

Out of Stock
Some of you have reported your stores being out of stock of some of the promotional items in this sale. Don't forget that you can always try asking for a Rain Check, BUT if the items do not come back in stock until after the catalina promotion is over, the catalinas will no longer print. This means that the store will need to find another way to deduct that $1 savings per item. Not all stores will be willing to honor a catalina Rain Check, so this is definitely a YMMV option (may or may not work).

WOW! Teresa, what store do you go to that has such a GREAT MANAGER?
I shop all 6 King Soopers in Arvada & many checkouts were an ordeal due to
limitations & non-working Catalina machines.
One bright light was the quick response from Catalina Marketing with 4 replacement
cats sent by Priority Mail after I was told by a cashier that I had reached my “limit”.
This week’s catalina offer on Barilla Pasta has not gone very well either. But I
stand my ground & they give me $1 from the register when the cat doesn’t print.
IT SHOULD’T BE THIS HARD. King Soopers apologized in an email for the
misunderstanding(s)…BIG WHOOP!

I ended up with over $120 in cats in 1 transaction.. BUT in the middle of the sale they did limit it to up to 4 cats in 1 transaction.
So when I went back the next day and another transaction, I found this out because I realized I was missing 11 cats..
I called the store manager, and he reprinted them for me and told me that Kings changed it in the middle of the sale with the limit per transaction. He did inform me that I can do as many transactions as I need for my items to get the full return on all cats.

I also asked him about how many of the cats can we use in 1 transaction. He said as many as you want, but that you won’t get cash back if it’s over the amount due.

I asked him about the rainchecks if they are out. He said that on the raincheck they can specify the cats on there. So you can get a raincheck with the specific item AND get a cat or that much off when you go back to use the raincheck.

New wrinkle on redeeming the catalinas…went to one store…used 3 cats…
machine didn’t give me the 2 I was due…very frustrated cashier gave me
back 2 of the 3 cats I had just given her! She told me they can’t wait for the
end of the sales event.
the machine did work & gave me the 2 cats I was due.
As great of a sale as this is…it has been one problem after another.

Just a quick update from the field. I have been shopping this sale today, 5 trips, 4 different king soopers. I have found the limit of 4 rewards per transaction to be true, 4 per card false. The rewards are rolling, I have been using the $5 coupons on the next transaction, although I have been using the reward at a different location. I have found an addition of Pillsbury grands breakfast sandwiches I think the coupons should still be good. The Betty cricket Mac and cheese (3 varieties) are .88 and if you but 10 you do get the 2 $5 rewards! Money maker!!!!

I was told yesterday (10/20) that I must have exceeded my limit when I did not
received ANY catalinas after purchasing 20 qualifying items. WHAT LIMIT?

It sounds like the cashier was just misinformed Sue. You can always call Catalina with your receipt information (1-888-322-3814) or stop by the Customer Service desk.

I filled out a form on the Catalina site. They responded within hours
& said I would be getting replacement catalinas by mail within 10 days.
I still didn’t get an answer about “limits” directly from them. I will give
it another try…buying just enough to qualify for ONE catalina.

I was told the same thing at my King Soopers in Bear Valley. There is a limit of 4 catalinas per King Sooper Card. My dad used his card for the first time on this deal and didnt get any catalinas.

I asked if this was 4 per day and she told me it is 4 per card period.

Maybe I will try another King Soopers, is anyone having any luck at their King Soopers in the Denver area, if so can you let me know which one?

I’ve gotten 7 catalinas total, the first 5 in separate transactions, but the last two in the same transaction.

I decided to give it another try by buying 5 qualifying items to earn 1
catalina. I was successful in doing so. The cashiers & managers
are really frustrated with the way King Soopers handled this fiasco.
They agreed that any restrictions should have been noted in the ad.
I hope to be able to get a few more deals before the sale is over
Support Services at Catalina Marketing was very eager to correct
the problem & promised to mail current catalinas to me after
processing my “claim”. There was a follow-up call this morning during
which I was assured there were no limits. BUT…if King Soopers
chooses to set limits mid-stream in the sales event, they are free
to do so.
Valerie, have your Dad file a claim online. After the way in which I
was treated, I am sure they will make it right for him
As for cashiers who make up their own rules……..ASK FOR THE
FYI…I was able to get the catalinas at all 6 King Soopers in Arvada…
most of them without a problem.
GOOD LUCK. This is one of those situations where we have to
assert ourselves instead of backing off!

It looks like Kroger (in the south) is carrying this deal over to the next week of sales that run Sun-Sat so hoping it carries over for us too!!
