I really try to not ask you all for to much, so I hope you don’t mind if I make a very tiny request during the month of November. 
Cheap Sally has launched a contest called Bring Home the Bacon. The winner of the contest will receive a blogging job with them that pays $100,000 during 2012. I will not go in to all the reasons why winning the contest would mean a lot to me, becuase honeslty, who wouldn’t want a job like that?!? 
It would be a tremendous honor if you would take a moment to vote for me in the contest. There is no registration required and all you have to do is click on the “Vote for Me” button. They are allowing everyone to vote once per day for the rest of the month. At the end of the month, the top entrant in each state will move on to the third round of the contest.

Some of you may be wondering why in the world I have not posted more than a few times during the past couple days and the reason is that I’ve been doing some traveling.
I’m just getting back this morning from a wonderful trip to San Diego for the 2011 BlogHer conference and before that I had to make a quick trip to Phoenix for work. Unfortunately, my internet coverage was a lot more spotty than I expected it to be and it made it nearly impossible for me to post when combined with the packed schedule that I was already working with.
The good news is that I was able to get a little bit of relaxation time, catch up with some of my blogging friends, make some great new connections that will help me to continue to improve Bargain Blessings in the coming months and even got to do my first ever Flash Mob!

For those of you are not following Bargain Blessings on Facebook yet…I wanted to give you a quick update of where I’ve been.
As you can see, I hurt my wrist. I’m not sure how I did it or what exactly I did yet, but it pretty much hurts to do anything beyond lifting a pen at this point…so as you can imagine…it doesn’t feel too great to type.
I had an MRI today and will get the results on Friday, so I’ll know more then and for now will continue to survive on pain killers.
If you have a moment to say a quick prayer….I’d greatly appreciate it. In the meantime, please forgive me if I am not posting quite as many deals, and am a little slow to respond to your e-mails and comments. I hope to be back at 100% soon!

During 2010 there were over 9,000 firework related injuries in the United States. With the holiday coming up I thought it would be nice for all of us to have a quick review of some Firework Safety.
If you are planning to use fireworks the first thing you will want to do is check your area’s restrictions. Here in Colorado, almost any firework that leaves the ground is illegal so make sure to check your state’s firework laws. If you have specific questions on your area’s restrictions you can also contact your local police or fire department.
Now, if you are in an area of the country that is less restrictive on firework use here are a few safety tips to keep in mind to make sure it is a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone! This tips are courtesy of the National Council on Firework Safety.
- Use fireworks outdoors only.
- Obey local laws. If fireworks are not legal where you live, do not use them.
- Always have water handy. (A hose or bucket).
- Only use fireworks as intended. Don’t try to alter them or combine them.
- Never relight a “dud” firework as it could explode. Wait 20 minutes and then soak it in a bucket of water. Also be sure to keep it away from other fireworks.
- Use common sense. Spectators should keep a safe distance from the shooter and the shooter should wear safety glasses.
- Alcohol and fireworks do not mix. Have a “designated shooter.”
- Only persons over the age of 12 should be allowed to handle sparklers of any type.
- Do not ever use homemade fireworks of illegal explosives. Report illegal explosives to the fire or police department in your community.
