I’m always so impressed by the answers that you all share in the “Your Turn” posts and now I have another opportunity for you to help fellow reader out! Here is the question:
With the warmer weather approaching I’ve noticed that the creepy crawlies are starting to emerge. My landlord has put out bait traps after I complained of the pest problem, he doesn’t believe me when I say he has roaches and mice in the house I’m renting. I’ve bought some cereal and rice containers for the packages that are open and refuse to let my kids open another box of cereal until a container is empty of it’s current contents. Is there anything that can be done to keep pests out of my stocked food?
Have any of you dealt with pests in your home? How do you keep them away from your stockpile?

Reader Dawn is looking for some tips on printer ink and I thought that this would be an excellent topic to open up for discussion since I receive many e-mails about it.
I was wondering what your thoughts were re printer ink, and if you could open that subject up to your faithful audience! Specifically, where the better refill prices are, etc.
I was thrilled to refill my first black ink cannister for $10 at Office Max (XL size too), but also was told to be careful about refilling tricolor ink…..something about the browns not producing good pics for photos. Much love and thanks to you!

Here is a comment that reader Hazel left yesterday:
Silly question but it’s been ages since I’ve gotten a paper delivered and now that I’m getting 5, what does a person give the delivery person as a Christmas gift? I’d love to leave out bags of groceries but I suppose money would be better. Any advice would be truly appreciated! Thanks much!
I don’t think that is a silly question at all! Thanks for getting us thinking about the topic Hazel! I think it is very important to take a moment to bless those that work so hard to get us those precious papers each week!

This week’s It’s Your Turn question has three parts:
How long have you been couponing?
How many stores do you shop at on average each week?
How much time do you spend each week couponing?

Shelf Clearing: Have you done it? Have you seen it done? What do you think about it?
If you are unfamiliar with what shelf clearing is, it is basically when a couponer purchases all or almost all of the products that are on the self. This prevents others from getting in on the deal since the shelves are bare by the time they get to the store.

I cannot tell you how many requests that I receive for target prices on Toilet Paper, Paper Towels and Diapers. If you happen to be one of the readers who have asked, you might know that I’m very cautious about providing target prices for these three products.
The reason is that the target price is going to vary a lot based on your preferences such as the ply of the toilet paper or paper towels, if you are brand loyal, and the size and type of diapers you are purchasing. Another very important factor is how much you already have on hand and how badly you need the product. For example, if you already have three big packs of toilet paper in your stockpile, your “A” price on TP might be a lot lower than someone who doesn’t have any on hand.
So with all that said, I’d love for us to share our target prices for these three products! Hopefully this will help to give some of you at least a point of reference to work from. Please be sure to include if you are brand loyal and what type/size you are currently purchasing!

I’ve received quite a few reader e-mails lately regarding how to pack a frugal school lunch. Here is what Amy sent:
Hey Jennie! My six year old is starting school this week and I’m hoping to be able to keep up with packing him lunches this year or school. I was wondering if you or the other readers have any tips on what I can pack that is healthy, yet does not cost a lot. Thanks!
