So for more than 19,000 of you have “liked” Bargain Blessings on Facebook. You may have done so to stay up to date on all of the great freebies, deals and coupons that we see each and every day! Facebook used to provide me a really quick way to get the word out to all of you about a fast moving deal or anything else that is too good to miss. Unfortunately, lately I’ve been receiving e-mail after e-mail from those of you who are likers of Bargain Blessings on Facebook but all of the sudden you have stopped receiving updates on your wall.
Just recently, Facebook has reveled why that is. You see, Facebook is not just a social media tool, but they are a business and they are out to make money just like millions of other businesses in this world. Up until now they have primarily done so through advertising, but this week they have added a new revenue stream that has drastically changed the way that blogs and other fan pages are able to communicate with their fans. If I now want to reach all of the Bargain Blessings fans with a post on Facebook, I have to pay them $100 per post. If I don’t pay that $100, a Facebook post will only reach a very small percentage of likers (3%-15% usually). How do I know? Because Facebook tells me. 
Since I post about 15 deals a day here on Bargain Blessings, that would be $1,500 per day, $45,000 per month and $540,000 per year that I would have to pay just to get Bargain Blessings updates to show up on all of your pages. Clearly, that is not even close to realistic and it really is too bad in my opinion, because after all, you liked Bargain Blessings for a reason and I’m pretty sure it just wasn’t for the fun of clicking the like button. 
Now, I do have some good news. There is something that we can all do to fight back…and it is pretty simple. If you want to make sure that you see a page that you have liked, just follow these steps:

Mine was already checked, and I noticed today my facebook was very inactive, nothing from any of my liked pages is coming through. I did notice that I got your Monday morning status update, the simple one without links or photos. Anything with a link or photo does not come through.
