You have not smelled peppermint until you’ve smelled Young Living’s peppermint oil – it is INCREDIBLE! Not sweet like a peppermint candy, but REAL like a real peppermint plant! I’ve never had anything clear up a stuffy nose as quickly as this stuff does – it really is amazing and definitely one of my top three favorite oils of all time.

The most frequent way that I use my peppermint oil is simply smelling it and diffusing it when I need a quick pick-me-up…and it works every time! The aroma is just so invigorating! On that note, if any of you are going on a road-trip anytime soon, peppermint is a must have for the driver!
I also love adding a drop of peppermint oil to my tea. Get this…ONE DROP of peppermint oil is equal to 28 CUPS of peppermint tea! Isn’t that crazy?! Can you imagine drinking 28 cups of peppermint tea to get the same benefit of one drop of peppermint oil? No thanks!
Here are just 10 of the many ways there are to use Peppermint oil!
1. Headaches: Rub one drop on the temples, forehead, over the sinuses (careful to avoid contact with your eyes), and on the back of the neck to relieve head pressure.
2. Concentration: Place 2 drops on the tongue and rub another drop of oil under the nose to help improve concentration and alertness. The University of Kentucky did a study on this and test scores went up by 28%!
3. Quick Energy Boost: Apply to the back of the neck and shoulders throughout the day to keep energy up.
4. Curb Food Cravings: Diffuse or inhale mid-morning to curb the desire to snack.
5. Soothe Upset Stomach: Inhale or rub a drop on your abdomen to soothe minor stomach discomfort.
6. Freshen Breath: Place a small drop of Peppermint on your tongue to freshen breath.
7. Baking: Use Peppermint Oil to add flavor to your favorite desserts. I love adding it to my brownies!
8. Muscle Aches: Dilute with a carrier oil (coconut oil for example) and massage into sore muscles.
9. Poison Ivy: Dilute with a carrier oil (coconut oil for example) and massage into affected area for relief.
10. Seasonal Discomfort Relief: Combine three drops of peppermint with three drops each of Lemon and Lavender and take internally in a vegetable capsule.
Besides myself and my amazing husband, peppermint was my very dear and loyal friend during pregnancy. I had ALL the symptoms that any book can describe: morning sickness, headaches, dizziness, very sensitive to smells, lack of energy, weird stomach and so on. I have to tell you, if you are pregnant or you know someone who is blessed by this process, do yourself/herself a favor and get a bottle or even two bottles of Peppermint right away! It help me with anything, even when the day was hot, I will rub it at the soles of my feet and aahhhhh! I will be completely refreshed. I was able to forget whatever at home, but never my Peppermint oil.

I was introduced to peppermint about four years ago by a friend distributor. I am prone to colds, flu and sinus infections. I have found that when I am congested or have problems breathing and excess coughing peppermint can be my best weapon. I simply rub it on my back and chest feeling its effects almost immediately. It is also a pleasant scent which is helpful when you want to wear it during the day. It can also provide relief for sore throats and headaches.

Very Important: All of the testimonials and recipes in this pot refer specifically to Young Living’s therapeutic grade Peppermint Oil. Do not attempt to use peppermint oil from a retail store as a replacement for Young Living’s oils. Check out my post on why I will only use Young Living oils for more details on this topic. All oils are not created equal. It is definitely a case of ‘you get what you pay for’.
We’ve already talked about Lavender and Lemon Essential Oil, so for today’s post I want to share with you an ‘Allergy Bomb’ recipe that combines three of the most popular oils in the Everyday Collection. Many are using this recipe to successfully relieve allergy symptoms!
Combine the following into an empty vegetable capsule and take orally 1-2 times daily.
3-4 Drops Lavender
3-4 Drops Lemon
3-4 Drops Peppermint
Top off with a Carrier Oil (olive oil, coconut oil or honey
Other ways of using these combined oils for allergy relief including dropping them under your tongue, taking them in a spoonful of honey or combining them along with a carrier oil in a roller bottle and applying to topically as needed.
Testimonial from Kathryn in California about the Allergy Bomb:
My husband and I both suffer from seasonal allergies. We have tried several oil combinations with only moderate success. When we discovered the new “Allergy Bomb” recipe, we decided it was worth a try. Within 30 minutes we both noticed how much better we were breathing. Neither one of us was sneezing, and our eyes were not weeping! I repeated the capsule once later in the afternoon, just as a preventative. My husband has not felt the need to take another capsule.
