Spent $47 at Safeway today…SAVED: $115!!! I normally avoid Safeway unless there is something I really want/need on sale, I just prefer King Soopers. But I stocked up on the fruit snacks (good timing because we’ve been out for about a week now and my daughter knows, unless it’s on sale and I have a coupon, we don’t get more! ), Pasta Sauce, Pace, cinnamon rolls, Salad mix and crackers! The Pace is $1.99 w/in ad q -.50/2 q from yesterday makes it $1.49 bottle…not a terrific price, but we needed some. Also, the fresh express salad mixes are only $1!! :-)

Does string cheese freeze well ?

Reply

4 Jennifer January 23, 2012 at 3:51 PM

It wont string anymore afterwards and tends to become wet, mealy and crumbly. My kids wouldn’t eat it after we tried it. Doesn’t taste bad, it’s a texture thing.

Good to know -!thanks!

Freezing works well for shredded cheese that you will be melting though.

I cannot fine the pom wonderful bars anywhere in the Greeley Safeways! Totally bummed!

Shannon, are you looking in the produce section? In the 3 Safeway stores I’ve found them, that’s where they’ve been. They’re on little half shelves on the bins in the middle that keep the fruits and vegetables from rolling off and escaping.

Did I miss the .99 cereal deal? I didn’t see it posted with the rest of the items. Just curious what that deal was since I need to buy some cereal.

The only cereal deal I saw in the flyer is:

There are in-ad coupons!! Post Honey Bunches of Oats 14.5-oz or Fruity Pebbles 11 oz. , limit 4. There were coupon in last weeks SS for $.55 off Fruity Pebbles, making them $.99 each and on-line coupons (Walmart) for $1 off Honey Bunches, making them $.99 too! Also Frosted Toast Crunch, Cheerios and Trix for $1.88, limit 4. I gound on-line q’s (sorry can’t remember where) for $.75 off Frosted Toast Crunch, which will bring them to $.88 a box. Going on my lunch to check out which Cheerios are on sale cuz there are on-line q’s for the Dulce de Leche, Peanut Butter and Multi Grain. Will up date when I return :)

Yeehaw and little fishies! Hadn’t gotten my mail flyer yet so it will be a gas to get those in-ad coupons. Oh boy looks like it might be a great cereal week! Thanks much Rebecca – please keep us “Posted”

Just finished my lunch time shopping trip. The only Cheerios on sale is the original. They finally have the Multi Grain Peanut Butter and Dulce de Leche for introductory price of $2.99 :( Hopefully they will go on sale for $1.99 like the Frosted Toast Crunch as the first sale add they had they didn’t even have these in their stores yet!

Thanks much – cereal scout :)

That was major stinkage when they had the Dulce de Leche on sale and didn’t have it on the shelves. It looks like a quite insterding flavor!

When the sale was over, the Dulce de Leche and Peanut Butter ones popped up on the shelves in CR. I hope they go on sale again so I can use my coupons.

Just curious….I bought 4 of the fruity pebbles and for some reason the coupons did not double…..I had other coupons for the fruit snacks and those doubled. Did you (or anyone else for that fact) run into this issue? I noticed something was wrong right away when she gave me my total but I didn’t want to hold up the line since it was so busy. I figured I would check with everyone else here first before I went back to the store. Does anyone know if I can take my receipt back in and have them refund me the $1.80? Thanks in advance!!

Reply

22 Hazel January 23, 2012 at 6:14 AM

My Pebbles doubled, but my Honey Bunches of Oats sure didn’t. Harumph.

23 Jolene January 23, 2012 at 8:53 AM

Thanks for the reply. I guess I’ll take my receipt in today and get by money back. It’s not much but the whole point is to save money and that $1.80 can be used to buy something else.

Cocoa Pebles is on sale 4/10 however Safeway will apply the in ad coupon if you have that and then there is a coupon for 0.55 off 1, so with all the discounts the price works out to be 0.99 per box.

Mornin’ Jennifer

There’s an in-ad coupon for NV Granola Bars – $1.77 each / limit 4. The database shows various coupons out there which would bring them down to $1.27 a box. Happy Chomping!
