"Rachel is 23, and lost her Marine husband this past March. She gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Ariana, but her husband never got to meet his little girl.

This past Friday was Jonathan's memorial. It has been a painful week for Rachel, and in her latest blog post she confesses, "I don't want to be a broken mother for my daughter but sometimes I'm afraid that's all I can give her. They say that time heals all wounds but I know I'll never be perfectly healed."

You can head on over to Rachel's blog to leave your "love bomb" comment and give her some encouragement. There is some language in the post, so if you are sensitve to that you might need to pass on this Love Bomb.

Overseas Coupon Program

Did you know that military families that are overseas can use expired manufacturer coupons for up to six months after the expiration date?

Sometimes it is easy for all of us to complain that we don't have a coupon for this deal or a coupon for that deal becuase we didn't get enough newspapers. Have you ever stopped to think that many overseas military families do not have the luxury of even getting the newspaper? The good news about this is that there is something we can do to help them!

The Overseas Coupon Program serves military families by assisting all of us to forward manufacturer coupons to overseas military bases. The bundles of coupons that are sent over are then placed on tables, at the PX and Commissary, or handed out for use by military members and families on base. This in turn helps the family save valuable dollars and stretch their budget!

How can I participate?
Head on over to the OCP webstie and read the Base Adoption Informaiton Page. After you have done that you will be able to select an overseas military base to adopt and fill out the Adoption Form. Once you have that done you can start sending your coupons to the address provided next to your adopted base! It is that simple!

Please note that they will not contact you after you fill out the adoption form. After you have completed that step, you are good to go! Make sure to check-out their tips page too...it has a lot of great informaiton on how they would like the coupons shipped.

ItStartsWith.Us Love Bomb Mission!

A while back I posted about the awesome website (ItStartsWith.Us) and the "LoveBomb" mission that we did for "Banzai Bill". You can read that post HERE. I've decided to make this a regular feature on Bargain Blessings and I hope you will join in by taking just a moment out of your day to bless someone else!

Here is this week's Love Bomb mission!

"Kara Oliver is going through an extreamly emotional "rollercoaster" of a time right now. She and her husband are going through the incredibly difficult process of IVF (in vitro fertilization) in order to bring a child into this world. She bravely and selflessly has written a blog about her journey in order to help other people who may have to go through the same thing. She has amazing strength and a great attitude, but right now is a tough part of the "cycle". They have implanted some embryos (not as many as they were first expecting) and she will take a blood test next Wednesday to see if she is pregnant. Things don't look very positive going into this cycle, so I think she could use a massive "BOMB" to lift her spirits a little bit.

Kara wants to be a mother so badly...it's her dream."

Now head on over to Kara's blog HERE to leave your "love bomb" comment and give her some encouragement!

Here is this week's mission:

Rachael recently had an ectopic pregnancy. She had emergency surgery and lost part of one of her fallopian tubes. Not long after she had begun to physically and emotionally heal from the surgery and loss of her pregnancy, she experienced severe pain and was rushed to the hospital again. The doctor hadn't gotten everything out in the first surgery, so after an exam and shots, she's back at home again resting. This all happened a couple of weeks before she was supposed to start a new job. She's unable to work right now, and the lack of income is difficult as well. As you can read in her blog, she's feeling a little defeated and lonely and could use a little "keep your chin up" encouragement.

Now head on over to Rachael's blog HERE to leave your "love bomb" comment and give her some encouragement!

You can read that post HERE. I've decided to make this a weekly feature on Bargain Blessings and I hope you will join in by taking just a moment out of your day to bless someone else!

Here is this week's mission:

Crystal is a young mother that has been fighting Ovarian Cancer since last year and although she is making progress, they are still finding some tumors. Lets let her know that there are people all around who are still believing in her fight and are wishing for her cancer to go away.

Go to Crystal's blog HERE and leave your love bomb! Note that she does have her blog set up where she has to approve comments before they are posted, so your comment might not show up right away.

It Starts with Us!

This post isn't really a deal per say, but I tell you what...it is a deal for your heart (and that is the best kind of deal anyway)!

My cousin Nate, started an amazing website last year called ItStartsWith.US. The mission is to change others lives through our everyday interactions. I wanted to share with you yesterday's mission and its result...

Yesterday's mission was to drop a "Love Bomb" on "Banzai Bill". You see, he had just left a post about a really difficult day he had. Our mission was to let him know that there are people out there who care and to lift him up with some simple words of encouragement. As a team, we left him almost 200 comments to do just that!

I was so excited when Nate sent out a link to Bill's response this morning. It turns out that yesterday was his birthday. How awesome. I feel so blessed to have been part of this "Love Bomb".

If you would like to join the ItStartsWith.US team to take part in awesome, life changing, missions like this...just stop over HERE to join the A Team! I promise, you won't only be changing others lives, but yours too...

Help for Haiti!

Important Note: This post will be stuck to the top of the website all day today. Scroll down for more great deals!

You all have seen it on the news and you've read about it in the paper. The heartbreaking destruction caused by the earthquake that struck Haiti earlier this week has killed thousands and has left thousands more without homes and the even the more basic necessities to survive.

Bargain Blessings is teaming up with Money Saving Mom during the next week to help the victims of the earthquake. Here is what you can do to help:

1) Pray! We do not know why terrible things like this happen, but what we do know is we have a Father that loves each and every one of us and can provide more comfort and healing to those in Haiti than any monetary amount could ever do!

For every one of our readers (up to 100) that commits to praying for Haiti by leaving a comment on this post before January 21st, Bargain Blessings will donate .50 to help those affected by the earthquake.

Update: Come on all you readers...the bloggers are beating you right now with more link-ups than we have comments! Lets get up to 100!

2) Blog about it! We are joining Money Saving Mom in encouraging other bloggers to participate in this call to help Haiti!

Bagain Blessings will donate another .50 for every blogger (up to 100) that links up below (before January 21st) to their post about what they are doing to help Haiti! $100 might not seem like a lot, but when you get hundreds or even thousands of websites and bloggers joined together in this effort the results will be amazing!

3) Donate! There are so many ways that you can donate and no amount is too small! Here are a few:

*Give through your church

We will be donating through our church. Contact your church to see if they are doing anything to help!

*Give to Compassion International, an organization dedicated to help children who are living in poverty.

All funds raised in response to the Haiti earthquake will be used immediately to provide for Compassion-assisted children and families affected by this crisis. Any funds raised in excess will be stewarded by Compassion for additional and future disaster relief efforts.

*Give to the Red Cross. You can donate online here or you can text “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. It will show up on your next phone bill.

How we can help the victims of the Haiti earthquake...

I'm sure most of you have heard about the devastating 7.0 earthquake that struck Haiti yesterday. Incase any of you are wondering how you can help CNN has compiled a list of organizations that will be involved in providing relief to the victims. You can view that list HERE.

Please remember to keep everyone involved in your prayers!
