I decided to take it easy on the deals this week and only shopped at Safeway and King Soopers. It was a nice and much needed break. Here is how I did:

King Soopers: These items are not pictured, but I was able to get 8 gallons of milk and 16 boxes of cereal for a grand total of .80…yep that is 80 cents no typo! I’m going to miss that Kellogg’s deal. It was so much fun taking it all around to my neighbors that night.

Safeway: I spent an even $18 on everything pictured. I did the Frozen Food Month promo twice and also stocked up on the Pillsbury Grands and string cheese.

Total spent this week: $18.80
Total for March: $18.80
Total for 2010: $160.15

I did my shopping at Target, Walgreens, Safeway, and King Soopers this week. As you can see, this was a stock up week for me…big time. I am SO excited that we finally are seeing some good meat prices. Here is a summary by store:

Target: I spent .30 on the three boxes of Kellogg’s Fruit Crisps and two 4-packs of yogurt. This is a good example of why it is nice to have a shopping buddy. I had four of the Fruit Crisps coupons and Alyssa had two, so we were able to pool our coupons so we could buy five boxes and get in on the deal!

Walgreens: All I did at WAGs this week was stock up on tuna. I got 15 cans for a total of $7.35 (.49 each). I’ve been waiting on a decent price for tuna for a while now, and although this isn’t quite as low as I’d like it to be….I still decided to grab a few. Go HERE to check out this week’s Walgreens deals.

King Soopers: I spent a total of $23.01. $8.99 of that total consisted of that huge jug of honey! Apparently King Soopers had a mistake in their ad by having the NY Strip Steaks for $5.99/lb BOGO. It was supposed to be $9.99/lb BOGO. Our King Soopers did not have a sign up identifying the mistake, so after it rang up as $9.99/lb BOGO I was able to go to customer service and they refunded me the full amount of my steak. Remember, it is King Soopers policy to refund you the total amount if it rings up incorrectly. This was also the case with my lettuce which rang up as .75 rather than the .50 it was marked…so I got it for FREE! I didn’t realize how big the Heinz Ketchup bottles were that are on sale for $1.59…that is a really good deal so I snagged two. Check out this week’s King Soopers deals HERE.

Safeway: I think Safeway was my favorite store this week. I spent $29.15 but I got a ton of stuff including that gigantic package of steak, 16 cans of soup and the five chickens that you see in the picture. Also, those bags of Animal Crackers on the left hand side of the picture are made by Nabisco and they are only .99, so when you use the $1 coupon found in the Make It Tonight Book…they are FREE! Also, our store had 10lb bags of potatoes on sale for .99…make sure to keep an eye out for these! Make sure to check out this week’s Safeway Deals HERE.

Total Spent this Week: $59.81
Total Spent this Month: $62.06

I think today was one of my best shopping trips in a while. I shopped at Sunflower Market, Rite Aid, King Soopers, and Safeway. Believe it or not…

Total Spent on this week’s groceries: $3.22!!!

Now that is a great start to the month, and it certainly added a lot to my stockpile! Make sure to check out all the great deals this week under the Stores Section on the right!

This week’s dinner menu consists of:

Hot Taco Dip
Steak, Potatoes, and Corn
Chicken Tetrazzini (I never ended up making this last week)
Meatloaf (same as above)
Spaghetti

Update:

Alright, so I’ll take a moment to give you some more details on how I did it. :) I do not have my receipts in front of me at the moment so, forgive me I’m going from memory.

I actually shopped at Safeway, and not Walgreens…that was a typo.

King Soopers: All of the items that I purchased at King Soopers are detailed in the King Soopers post HERE. I did the Buy 10 Save $5 promotion 4 times in this transaction. I also had a $2.50 pharmacy credit and I brought my own bags, those both helped to lower my total to just over $8.

Safeway: I actually made money at Safeway and purchased a gas card to cover the overage (this is YMMV, my store doesn’t have any issues with it, but some stores will ask you to purchase more items to cover overage). The money that I made paid for my King Soopers items and also paid for some of my Rite Aid items. I made money through my eCoupons (which I had several of), by using the Free item deals that were in yesterday’s paper to get my pre-coupon total up to $50, using a $10 off $50 purchase which they sent to me in the mail, and I had a $2.50 Catalina. I essentially made around $11.50 on my Safeway shopping. Everything else that I purchased is included in the Safeway post HERE.

Rite Aid: I made .50 on the two boxes Post cereal, by combining the $1.75 sale with $2 coupons. I also purchased shaving cream which will be .99 after SCR, sale, and coupon; and I bought the 4 Oral B toothbrushes for a total of $5 after SCRs and coupons. (These items will also help me to get my total up to $100 for the Go for the Gold Promo, but I didn’t include that in my calculations-if I did though I would have made.) Check out this week’s Rite Aid Deals HERE.

Sunflower: The only two items I got at Sunflower were tomatoes and an organic popsicle thing that my husband likes. I also brought my own bag which saved me .10. My total there was around $1.50. I so wish that it were possible to freeze tomatoes…that is just a awesome deal. Check out my Sunflower post HERE.

So there you have it in a nutshell, that is how I did it! I hope that these See Me Shop Sunday posts help to inspire all of you! I know when I first started couponing, I just didn’t believe that it was possible to save so much…now I know it is, because I do it every week…and I hope these posts help you to see it too!

I was thinking last week that some of you must think that my family is starving because I’ve been buying so little the past few weeks…but really we have just been eating out of our stockpile, so there is very little need for us to purchase anything. My meat stockpile is starting to run low though, so I’m really hoping we will see some amazing prices in the next week or two so I can stock up!

This week we will be eating: Tacos (my favorite!), Crockpot Chicken Tortilla Soup, Meatloaf, Steak, and Chicken Tetrazzini (also a favorite!). So yes, we really do eat “real” meals!

This week I again shopped at King Soopers and Safeway. At Safeway I purchased eggs and potatoes. I spent a total of $2.23, but I paid for it with a $10 gift card that received for taking a survey to help Safeway to improve their website.

At King Soopers I spent a total of $31.62…but…I will be getting $20 of that back from the Kraft/Nabisco rebate…so just $11.62. Not bad, considering the milk alone was $4 of that total!

Total Spent on this week’s groceries: $11.62

Total Spent on this month’s groceries: $29.80!

This week I shopped at Safeway and King Soopers. We will be eating primarily out of our stockpile this week and we still have milk left from last week, so I actually only needed two items (lasagna noodles and cottage cheese). The rest of the items that I purchased will be added to our stockpile.

Here is what I spent:

King Soopers $8.39

Can you believe that I got three Minute Maid Lime Juices for .30! They had them clearanced to .10 each! I hardly ever seem to be able to find good clearance deals because I do most of my grocery shopping on the weekends, so I’m quite excited about that find. I actually didn’t pay anything out of pocket, because I still had some of that pharmacy credit to use up that I mentioned last week. There are a few Shortcuts eCoupons that didn’t come off, so I will be contacting them tomorrow.

Safeway $3.91, plus I got a $2.50 Catalina back on the fruit roll-ups…so just $1.41 for 4 packs of Fruit Rollups, 4 Betty Crocker Potatoes, 2 Progresso Soups, Sargento Cheese, and a Pizza!

Total Spent for this week’s groceries: $9.80

Make sure to check out this week’s deals reviews for King Soopers and Safeway!

See Me Shop Sunday!

When I first started couponing I so enjoyed seeing pictures of what others were able to score…it was such an encouragement to me and made me say to myself… “Hey, I can do that!”

So, we are starting a new feature on Bargain Blessings called “See Me Shop Sunday”! For the See Me Shop Sunday posts Alyssa and I will be sharing our shopping trips with you! I cannot guarantee we will be able to do a See Me Shop Sunday post every week, but we will try to do it as often as possible!

This week, I did my weekly shopping at King Soopers. I actually didn’t pay for anything in the picture because I used part of my $25 credit on my King Soopers card for buying a prescription using a competitor’s “Save $25 when you buy a transferred prescription” coupon. Did you know that King Soopers accepts competitor coupons in the pharmacy? They do! And it is a great way to get FREE groceries!

If you don’t include the pharmacy credit on my card, I spent a total of $8.38! Here is what I got:

5 bags of Birdseye Veggies (used .25 MQs that I got for e-mailing Birdseye to tell them I like their product)

8 Suave Deodorants (Free after MQ)

4 Halls Cough Drops (Free after IP)

4 Pillsbury Biscuits (.60 Money Maker after IP and 2 .30 Shortcut coupons)

4 Starkist Tuna (Free after IP)

2 Gallons of Milk ($1.99 each)

1 Half Gallon of Chocolate Milk (FREE-Notice that I got organic! The coupon did not specify a brand and the organic milk was $2.99. Always remember to read your coupons carefully so you can optimize them!)

1 Kroger Enchilada Sauce (It was cheaper than name brand)

1 Kroger Green Chiles (Same as above)

I also saved another .20 by using 4 of my own bags. Every little bit helps! You can view our entire King Soopers post HERE!
