Are you taking advantage of Target's Cartwheel savings program? I've been asked a few times recently about how it works, so let's review!

Cartwheel allows you to save as much as an additional 30% off on items you buy everyday at Target. This includes grocery, health & beauty, household, clothing, baby items and a whole bunch more. The best part is that you can actually combine these new Cartwheel offers with your coupons. You can use one Cartwheel offer with a manufacturer's coupon, and a Target coupon...talk about some serious triple stacking savings potential!

You will need to have a Facebook account to earn savings as well as  a smartphone if you wan to redeem this additional savings at the store using your phone. It is also possible to print your bar code if you don't happen to have a smartphone. Target is hoping that you will be sharing these deals with your Facebook friends, thus the need for a Facebook account. Each time you select a Cartwheel offer it will appears on your Facebook feed so your friends can see which additional savings you are getting in on. Remember, you can always change your privacy setting on Facebook to keep more of your information private.

To get started with this new savings program, you'll first have to log-in with your Facebook account. After you have done that then you can start browsing through the offers. You can do this by clicking on the Collections box, where you'll find all sorts of savings categories. If you would like to select an offer, you'll just tap on the card followed by the "add button". These selected offers will then be added to your Cartwheel. You will initially be able to select 10 offers, and then after that you can earn more through badges, which are earned when you redeem selected offers. You can also click on the "hints" button to see how to earn additional badges.

When you’re ready to head out to Target to purchase your items and your offers are in your cartwheel, you can either print your Cartwheel barcode , or you can use your mobile device in the store to access your barcode.

Remember that an offer can easily be removed if you change your mind and don't want to take up one of you 10 spaces with it. You can also check on the expiration date by clicking on the card in your Cartwheel.

Some important details to keep in mind:

  • A Cartwheel discount will be taken after any applicable Target coupon and before your manufacturer coupon.
  • You can redeem all the Cartwheel offers on your Cartwheel list at the time of your transaction. For example, if you have 10 offers on your list when you scan your barcode at a Target store, and you're purchasing items tied to all 10 offers, you'll save on all 10 items.
  • You can save on your entire Cartwheel list up to 6 times per day.

Have you been using Cartwheel? If so, how do you like it?

Tee-
that’s the beauty of Cartwheel. you can use it anytime, stack it with other MQ and Target Q’s and can be used multiple times. i.e. I bought milk tuesday saved my 5% with cartwheel, went back wednesday cause I forgot our little one’s milk (she’s on whole while the rest of us are on 1%) used cartwheel again for our 5% off. I also have cartwheel savings on other items just waiting for me to use. They will expire at some point but the app will tell you how many days you have left if it is getting near or if you’ve already passed the date, when you open the app it will let you know which have already expired and how many slots you have available for new items. hope this helps!

What if I selected 10 offers on my phone, printed the bar code but when I go to the store,.ended up buying just 6 out of the 10 offers I selected, would that be ok?

I love Cartwheel. Thanks for the explanation. I was told at the register by a target associate that you can get additional savings thru the Target “mobile” app in addition to Cartwheel. Do you know how to redeem those? I did not see a bar code on the app. Additionally you can save an additional 5% by obtaining a target REDcard; connect it to your debit card and it comes out of your checking account instantly. Go online to choose a school and Target gives a % of your purchases back to the school.
