Have I every shared with you all that I’m a big huge fan of herbal tea? Maybe I have, but I’m not sure that I’ve ever told you why so here you have it!

Soda…no thanks!

Did you know that people who have only one soda per day have a 20 percent increased risk of developing heart disease? Another recent study suggested that 25,000 people die each year due to health problems caused by soda. Wow. I’ve never been much of a soda drinker and this is exactly why.

Coffee…nice boost, but still not the perfect solution.

I did recently start drinking coffee and although the energy boost is nice, for some reason my body crashes hard once it’s out of my system and it’s not a great feeling.

Water…just can’t seem to make it a habit.

I’ve shared with you all in the past that I have a very difficult time staying hydrated. Plain ole’ water just isn’t appealing enough to me on most days and sadly it used to happen often that I would get to the end of a busy day and realize that I drank almost no water at all…the entire day! I used to joke that one day I would just shrivel up, but once I really started to look into the side effects of being dehydrated I knew that I needed to take it more seriously. Fatigue, energy loss, premature aging…yuck!

Tea…eurika!

I have learned that adding lemon to my water helps a lot, but last fall I also started drinking Bigelow herbal green tea [1]. I just love the warm cozy feeling of having a warm cup of tea by my side all day long and I love that Bigelow tea [2] offers so many different varieties. If you have not tried their Orange & Spice tea yet, you simply must! It is perfect for fall! I’ve also found Bigelow teas to have a much “smoother” taste when compared to other brands of tea. It sure does make it easy to stay hydrated which is definitely what I love most about it!

Speaking of staying hydrated, my big challenge came when the weather started getting warmer, I wasn’t drinking as much tea and started to fall into my old habits. Then one day it occurred to me that maybe I could try transitioning my fall and winter tea drinking habit into a spring and summer habit too. Iced green tea! Bam – problem solved! Now my constant companion is a water bottle filled with my trusty iced green tea. Usually I will make an entire tea pot full of it and then put it in a pitcher for the perfect on the go hydration solution. I’ve also found a bunch of different ways to change it up a bit by adding things like:

-Lemon
-Ginger
-Honey
-Mint Leaves

Fall is my most favorite season of the year but it also happens to be one of the busiest. Back to school time for me means teaching many more savings workshops and working hard to prepare for the busy holiday deal season here in Bargain Blessings.
