I thought I’d share my King Soopers and Safeway Shopping Trips with you today!
Here is my King Soopers trip. The grand total was $20.64 and I saved 62%…not my best shopping trip ever, but it did the job! I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do with 18lbs of Grapefruit, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out.
You will notice that I did purchase a few items in the picture (potatoes) that were rated a lot lower than an A or B, and I just wanted to point out that you don’t need to feel guilty if you cannot always only buy A’s or B’s. I needed potatoes for a Yyummy potato soup I’m making this week, and sure they are a better deal at Sunflower this week, but I didn’t feel like driving 15 minutes just for potatoes. So, with that said just make sure you keep you expectations reasonable. That is especially important when you are first starting out couponing. It is easy to get consumed with only buying the best deals, but you know what…paying $1 more for a bag of potatoes isn’t going to break the bank! It is more important to have fun while saving your family money…and it isn’t very fun to spend your weekend driving around to get every deal out there.

And here is the Safeway trip. My total was $32.62 and I saved 83%. Look at all the meat I got…5 roasts, a Jennie-O Turkey Breast, and two bags of Tyson Chicken! My (less than $4 each) Taste of Home cookbooks came in the other day. One of the cookbooks I got is a slow-cooker book and there are SO many yummy recipes in it for roasts.
