My beloved Bargain Blessings friends,
Hello! Long time, no-chat. Thank you to so many of you for your messages and emails over the past three weeks. Most of you were incredibly kind and I’m so thankful that you took the time to write.
So this post is going to be quite long, but I hope you’ll stick with me because I want to share my heart with you on a few topics. First, let’s chat about what I know is top of mind for many of you…
What happened the the King Soopers coupon match-ups?
We have been providing Colorado King Soopers coupon match-ups here on Bargain Blessings for over 10 years now.
For most of those years I personally sat down for several hours (after coming home from work) to match up those coupons to the sale items for King Soopers and several other stores. It was very time consuming and meticulous work that resulted in more late nights that I can count, canceled time with friends, less time with family and several other sacrifices. However, it was a calling for me to do them and I enjoyed providing the free service to the community. Hearing how much ya’ll were saving made my days!
Then, as life went on, things got more busy – as they often do. And I learned that I needed more balance in my life – it just isn’t healthy to be tied down to a computer for 12 hours a day. So I hired a few team members to help me here on Bargain Blessings. Most recently, Stephanie has been the King Soopers guru. She faithful worked so hard for 3-1/2 years to share all of the best deals with you all each week and I will forever be grateful for her dedication to Bargain Blessings and the community. Recently though, Stephanie decided recently to focus on other things and I fully support her in that.
So, that left me with an important decision to make – should we continue match-ups on Bargain Blessings? Because at this point our family is paying someone to complete match-ups each week and I don’t even know how many are using them. Because, very honestly, when you don’t comment, I don’t know that you’re still here! It wasn’t until I got all your emails this week that I realized how many of you missed the match-ups. SO, I’m happy to share with you all that I’ve worked hard these past couple of weeks to find someone with the skill to complete our weekly match-ups for King Soopers and all the other stores that we share here on Bargain Blessings. She will be starting in two weeks.
With that said (and I hate to even address it, but it’s on my heart), I mentioned above that “most” emails I received over the past few weeks were kind. One was not. And I’m honestly blown away by the attitude of entitlement contained in it – it’s amazing to me how unkind and assuming some can be when they are sitting behind a computer. I want to make very clear that while I love providing this service, for free, it is not a life-long promise that our family will be doing this forever. I started Bargain Blessings because the Lord put it on my heart at the time to help others to stretch their hard earned money. Lately my passion lies elsewhere (read on for that) and you know what – that is OK! I’m grateful for how the Lord leads and shapes our lives as the years go on.
So where have you been lately Jennie?
As some of you know, our family has undergone many changes over the past couple of years. We moved, we had a baby, we ‘accidentally’ started a new business – it has been crazy, amazing and FUN! I’m so grateful.
A few years ago, a close friend shared Young Living essential oils with me for some health support I was needing. I ordered them and at the time I swore to her that I would NEVER do the business – I just wanted to use the oils that I was hearing so much about for our family. Well, to my surprise, within a few weeks I fell in love with them – and with the company and with the friends I was starting to gain as I learned about these incredible little bottles of plant juice. And that led to me doing A LOT of research – about the food we were eating and the products that we were using in our home. The more I learned the more I was blown away and sickened at the same time – the amount of cancer causing chemicals in our home at the time was unreal and terrifying.
And that is when I decided to start educating others – and to dive into the business side of the company that was helping our family to kick the toxic-filled lifestyle to the curb. That decision ended up changing our lives in ways that I never could have expected. Since, so many of my friends, family and YOU (my readers) jumped on board with us and have had their lives changed in very similar ways to our family – they are healthier, happier, mamas are staying home with their babies, husbands have left their jobs to be home, families have taken dream vacations, school loans have been paid off – I could go on and on, but can I just say how stinking amazing that all is to be a part of?! It is SO much fun and now that I get to interact much more closely with many of you and help you make your dreams a reality – well, it’s just the best! And that is not just fluff talk either – yes there are really readers that have quit their full-time jobs during the past couple of years because of Young Living.
What does this mean for Bargain Blessings?
Since us making some lifestyle changes, it has always been nagging on my heart that we were sharing deals for those same products that we kicked out of our home. I not only want you to save money my friends, I so badly want you to be healthy and happy too!
With that said though, I realize that everyone has their own journey, and their own timing. I remember when I used to laugh at my friends that ate organic – I thought it was a total waste of money. I just didn’t know any better and my mind wasn’t open to changing at that point. But hey! I came around eventually, we made changes in baby steps and now we are much better off! So if there is hope for me, there is hope for you too – even if right now you totally think I’ve gone off the deep end and converted into a crazy crunchy woman.
There is so much love, hard work and sacrifice behind this blog – more than probably anyone will ever know other than myself. Bargain Blessings is not going anywhere – it’s here to stay and I’m excited to begin to shape it to match where my passions are. The deals will still be here – so don’t ya’ll worry about that. I’m also excited to share with you pieces of our new, more healthy, lifestyle.
I honestly don’t have it all figured out quite yet, but I’ll be thinking and praying on that in the coming weeks. And I’d love your feedback too! Please leave a comment below, reach out to me by email (jennie(at)bargainblessings.com) or friend me on Facebook!
I know that was long. Goodness I didn’t even get to cover everything, but I’ve been wanting to get this post up for weeks now and it’s time. Blessings to you my friends – thank you for sticking around.
