About Jennie
Welcome to Bargain Blessings. My name is Jennie and I’m so excited that you’re here.
If you talk to anyone who knows me well they will tell you that I’ve always been, well…cheap. So when my best friend and I stumbled upon couponing in March of 2009 it just came naturally and we jumped in with both feet! Before you know it I had cut my grocery budget alone by more than $400 per month and by the end of the year I had literally saved thousands of dollars. I’ve quickly learned that it is very possible to be frugal and live abundantly without being cheap.
I am first and foremost a Christian saved by the grace of God. All I do and everything I’ve been blessed with is all thanks to Him. I live in the beautiful state of Colorado with my three pups: Sampson, Lila, and Anabelle.
About Bargain Blessings
A Thanksgiving outreach at my church in November of 2009 confirmed what I had been contemplating for many months. It was time to share the blessings of my new-found hobby and lifestyle with others who could benefit from the tremendous savings. After receiving that confirmation it was full steam ahead and Bargain Blessings was born within a few days! To my surprise, what I had thought would be a quiet little website used by friends and family, quickly started to grow and grow and grow! I am now blessed and delighted every day to have a wonderful community of readers who have embarked upon the frugal journey with me.
My hope for you is that this website will be a blessing to you and your family. I hope that the bargains you find here will not only impact your finances, but also bring just a little joy and excitement along with. Whether you are an experienced couponer or someone who just likes to get in on a good deal every once and a while, welcome! I’m glad you’re here.

I’m in Denver Joan. Welcome to Bargain Blessings.
Hey,
Blessings to you, I love your site… very helpful for us fruGALS!
Can anyone tell me if they know TARGETs clearancing system? ie: 30% off for ?days, then 50% off… then 75% off??? There are some things I’m watching, but don’t want to have to run in there all the time, that costs me money because I can never get out of there empty handed!
Hi Jody,
I work at Target and usually clearance is a progressive discount which occurs over weeks. Each store manages it’s own clearance away from corporate. Each week clearance items are evaluated based on sales and available shelf space. Non-seasonal items may start at 30%, then progress each week or so to 70% and are usaully created because of oversotck or poor selling items. Unfortunately clearance items have no price guarrantee so you can’t demand a refund at guest services. Regarding seasonal items, the discount progression can occur quicker once again based on shelf space. As far a monitoring clearance “from “home”, all I could suggest is networking with your fellow Target shoppers and asking them to watchdog the items you want most when they shop themselves. Good luck!
Jenny,
I love your website! I also appreciate seeing the Prov. 31 woman as I travel thru it.
If possible, would you answer some questions for me? I’m attempting to provide similar info for franchishes in Milwaukee that have different ads (but the same name!) Mine is a newly empty nest view and transitioning … using freebies to surprise college children & those on their own. I’d be grateful to have you bless me with some answers.
Hi Bev~ I’m not sure I quite understand your question, but please feel free to e-mail me at bargainblessigns (at) gmail (dot) com and I’d be happy to help!
thanks to mojosavings i found your website..i live in littleton,co..i had a questions..Is there a coupon policy for albertsons, everytime i go, they give me hasle about using coupons.. last time my daughter wanted the bliss chocolate bars and i had 10 coupons, but they only accepted 3, they told me that they could only accept 3 alike coupons..is that true? thanks lorena
Hi Jennie, I wanted to tell you a couple of things we did to save some money. I called Comcast when the bill wasn’t due, and I asked if they could take my bill down. Right away the lady gave me a cheaper rate on both my services! And another thing we did was we called our car loan company and asked if they could ‘modify’ the loan so we have no payments for 4 months. (We are caught up on our loan and have never been behind on any payments so Im sure this made a difference, but this really helped us right now.) I just wanted to pass this on.
Thanks for an awesome Website. I love it.

What a great resource! I’m a teacher in Aurora, and while I’m grateful to have not been cut in the widespread budget cuts, our belts haven’t been this tight in a long time. I’m new to couponing, and though I can’t imagine a scenario where I’d stock up on dozens of boxes of anything like I see on the TV show, I am encouraged that I can likely save some money by shopping smart. Thanks for all of your hard work with this — I can only imagine the time it takes you!
Jennie,
I was reading about this weeks Rite Aid deals and accidently hit the About tab. It was a blessing to read your testimony. God bless you for putting it out there for people to read. To God be the glory for all the savings He gives our family with coupons. You are now going in my favorites folder.
God Bless you and thank you for the Rite Aid break down.
Jennie –
Thanks girl for taking the time to do this! God bless you! I am in Aurora and hope to make it to one of your classes! Best part – you give glory to God : )

Hello Jennie it was a joy to read your website, particularly the faith aspect of your work I started my own coupon blog but had started to doubt its implications on faith and compatibility with the teachings of Christ but lo finding your blog has enthused me to go on. I also write a few blogs on issues of faith. Be blessed and may He who has begun a great work in you bring it to completion. Thanks.
Hello…did the denver post deal though your site and never got my king S Card?
Hi Angeia~ Gift cards went out in the mail today, so you should be getting in in the next couple of days.
I stumbled upon your blog today as I was searching for some info about King Soopers (I’m trying to plan my next big shopping trip), and I am so excited that there is a couponing blog that not only talks about my King Soopers, but the writer is actually located in my area!
Hi Jennie! I am pleased with your website! It excited me to know first and formost that you are a born again Christian! I have recently started couponing and I am not doing so well. I live in a small town in Virginia and couponing is hard here. I feel like it doesn’t do anygood sometimes. Just wondering if you have any pointers for me? God Bless!
Welcome Sarah.
Which areas do you feel you are not doing so well at? Is it couponing at your local grocery store?
Yes at the grocery store. We do not have a double couponing store. Locally Dollar General Market and Food Lion. I can go to Walmart (about 30 min.), but I feel that couponing there does not always benefit me. Plus when you go to Walmart you end up getting more than you need or want.
Are you using a loacl blog for coupon match-ups for Food Lion? I agree with you on Walmart by the way…it is not a very fun store to coupon at in my opinion.
No local blog. I have searched and searched and have not been able to find one.
My mumz has the same problem in a small town in Iowa. At her age, she only heads to the “big city” once a month. Seems the local grocers kind of hold the townsfolk captive in their coupon policies and pricing. They had a good deal on peanut butter last year, once. Store sold completely out – no rainchecks. Mumz loves to hear about my scores but it’s not the same as if she was able to do it herself
She even told me that a group was going to hold a coupon class & charge a hefty price to attend, but, they’d give you a “kit”. (What’s in the kit, an insert?) That irked me since you’ve taught us the ethical / pay it forward side of things. I told her I’d be more than happy to teach the little I know next time I visited – no charge! Harumph.
I am glad that I am not the only one with this problem. It seems that things are only getting harder to save money. I try to be frugal with our money. Where do we go from here? I want to do better than I do and stretch the money further and still be able to save a little. Everything is getting so expensive and I don’t think that is going to change. Any ideas?
Hello Jennie,
I know you’re really busy, so I will try to make this quick and briefly. My name is Ella and I am working for couponsnapshot.com. I like you site. It looks nice and helpful. So my company is wondering whether you offer a sidebar text link ad or banner ad. If so, could you kindly let me know your detailed rates? Waiting for your reply and look forward to working with you. :)
Best Regards,
